Indian golfer Aditi Ashok is within striking distance of the lead after a strong second round at the 2023 Cognizant Founders Cup. Aditi is bidding to become the first Indian to win on the LPGA Tour and moved up to tied third place after shooting a 4-under 67 in the second round, bringing her to 7-under 137 overall. She is just one shot behind co-leaders, Australian Sara Kemp and Korea’s Jin Young Ko. Aditi won one Ladies European Tour event this season and was the runner-up at the JM Eagle LA Championship.

Aditi had six birdies against two bogeys in the second round and said that windier conditions in the afternoon round made putting harder, but she putted better than the previous day. She acknowledged that a good start is crucial to have a strong finish and hopes to capitalise on her good start to the tournament.

Aditi is playing her seventh year on the Tour and will play the third round with the defending Founders champion Minjee Lee. Among those who missed the cut are Rolex Rankings No. 1 Nelly Korda and 2023 JM Eagle LA Championship winner Hannah Green.
