Anti-Trans Calendar Fuels Hate
British anti-transgender activist Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, also known as Posie Parker, has faced criticism for selling a transphobic 2024 calendar titled “He’s a Man!!”. Keen-Minshull, the founder of the anti-trans group Standing for Women, has a history of promoting anti-trans sentiments, including popularizing the slogan “adult human female” to define womanhood.
The calendar, available on the Adult Human Female online store, features images of notable trans women on the cover, with the words “365 Days of Being a Bloke.” Despite backlash, the calendar is already sold out on the U.S. site.
Critics have accused Keen-Minshull of profiting from transphobia and dehumanizing trans women for monetary gain. The calendar includes photos of high-profile trans women, such as swimmer Lia Thomas, and has been described as a crude and potentially legally problematic creation. Some commenters pointed out that the use of images without consent could lead to legal consequences.
Keen-Minshull’s history of anti-trans activism includes placing an anti-trans billboard in Liverpool in 2018 with the slogan “adult human female.” She continues to sell merchandise with anti-trans slogans on her online store.
The transphobic calendar has ignited discussions about the ethical and legal implications of using images without permission and the impact of such products on the LGBTQ+ community.
Despite the controversy, Keen-Minshull has defended her actions, and the product’s popularity raises concerns about the persistence of transphobic sentiments in certain circles.
