Karishma Mehta, a multi-talented writer, photographer, and TEDx presenter, embarked on her entrepreneurial journey at the tender age of 21 when she created a captivating storytelling platform that would later amass millions of followers across social media.

In 2014, this venture made its debut as a Facebook Page, sharing stories in the vein of ‘Humans of New York,’ a project initiated by Brandon Stanton.

Since conducting her very first interview, Karishma Mehta’s platform has flourished, documenting the diverse experiences and challenges faced by residents of Mumbai. It has gone beyond profiling ordinary citizens, also featuring the stories of entrepreneurs and celebrities.

In 2022, she expanded her storytelling repertoire by launching a YouTube video series titled “How I Achieved It,” featuring in-depth interviews with accomplished individuals, delving into the intricacies of their journeys to success.

To support her platform, Mehta initiated her first fundraising effort, compiling previously unpublished stories into a self-published book, which became available in 2016.

Karishma Mehta’s journey began in Mumbai, where she was born and raised. After attending the Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, she spent two years at a boarding school in Bangalore before pursuing her college education in the UK for three years, focusing on Economics and Business. In addition to her role as the founder of this platform, Mehta has cultivated a career as a freelance writer, contributing to various publications. She’s also an experienced TEDx presenter, having delivered numerous talks at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
