CBSE Class 10 Pass Percentage Increases to 93.12% from Pre-Pandemic Year

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 10 board exam results, with a pass percentage of 93.12%, which is an increase from the pre-pandemic year. The board exams were cancelled this year due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the results were declared based on an alternative assessment method.

A total of 21,45,439 students were registered for the Class 10 CBSE board exams this year, out of which 99.04% were able to pass. The pass percentage of students from government schools was 97.84%, while the pass percentage of students from private schools was 99.22%.

The alternative assessment method used by CBSE to evaluate the Class 10 students included a combination of internal assessments, periodic tests, and pre-board exams. The results were calculated based on the performance of students in these assessments and exams.

The board also announced that students who are not satisfied with their results can apply for improvement exams, which are expected to be held in August. The students can apply for improvement in one or more subjects, and the marks obtained in the improvement exam will be considered as final.

The CBSE also stated that the marks obtained by the students in the Class 10 board exams will not be considered for admission to Class 11 this year, as many schools have either cancelled the Class 11 exams or have not conducted them yet due to the pandemic.
