In a ground-breaking move, acclaimed actor Cynthia Erivo is set to star in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the award-winning play, Prima Facie. Erivo, known for her Oscar-nominated performance in Harriet, will take on the lead role previously portrayed by Jodie Comer, who won an Olivier award for her captivating performance as a lawyer grappling with the aftermath of sexual assault.

Prima Facie, originally staged as a one-woman show, explores the story of Tessa, a barrister who becomes entangled in a corrupt legal system after experiencing sexual assault. The film will be helmed by director Susanna White, known for her work on projects such as Woman Walks Ahead and Andor. The screenplay will be expanded by Suzie Miller, the talented playwright behind the original stage production.
