The Netflix adaptation of Julia Quinn’s Novel series, Bridgerton, one of the most watched series on Netflix, is all set to come back with season 3, but with a twist! After unfolding the love story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley) in season 2, this upcoming Lady Whistledown herself will take center stage.

Fans who’ve read Julia Quinn’s Novel series Bridgerton may be surprised as Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) and her crush, Colin Bridgerton’s (played by Luke Newton) love story is told in the fourth series of the novel. Whereas in the third part, An Offer From A Gentleman, revolves around the love life of bohemian artist Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson). Given the ending of season 2, where Penelope overhears Colin telling a group of his friends that he would “never dream of courting” Penelope, causing her heartbreak, the creators have decided to change the order of the series and show us how Polin is going to achieve happily ever after despite all the difficulties.

Switching up the order is not the only major change in Bridgerton season 3 as Creator Chris Van Dusen has stepped down as showrunner, with Shondaland veteran writer/producer Jess Brownell taking over for the third season. Moreover, Ruby Stokes, who played Francesca Bridgerton, has also exited the show after landing the lead in Netflix’s new series Lockwood & Co. and will be replaced by Hannah Dodd. As Lady Whistledown would say, “Patience, after all, is a virtue.” We can only wait for the release to see what it has in store for us this time.
