Fazilla Jan, a 19-year-old artist from Srinagar, is embarking on a remarkable journey of self-discovery through art. Her talent and captivating brushstrokes have already made a lasting impact on the local art scene, capturing the essence of nature in her creations.

Discovering her passion for art during 8th grade, Fazilla’s artistic journey began with simple sketches. With dedication and determination, she quickly expanded her skills, exploring various art forms such as calligraphy and painting. Fazilla’s exceptional talent and artistic growth have been showcased in prestigious art exhibitions across Kashmir, where she has been recognized among the “100 Young Artists of India.”

Guided by Prof Zargar Zahoor, the former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Jamia Millia Islamia, Fazilla has gained valuable insights through live painting sessions. Her figurative art style aims to bring the mesmerizing beauty of nature to life on canvas, evoking emotions and tranquility.

Beyond traditional art forms, Fazilla aspires to break barriers as the first female sand artist in the valley. Under the mentorship of renowned sand artist Sahil Manzor, she is currently undergoing training. Fazilla’s determination and desire to challenge societal norms inspire others to pursue their dreams.
