Former “office mom” of Tucker Carlson’s show sues Fox News over alleged discrimination
A lawsuit was filed by a former Fox News employee named Cathy Areu against Tucker Carlson and several other Fox News executives. Areu claimed that she was subjected to sexual harassment and discrimination while working at Fox News and that Carlson and others were aware of this behavior but did nothing to stop it. As a mid-level producer at ABC News, she had voted twice for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in 2016 but didn’t consider herself particularly political.
The lawsuit was later dismissed by a judge, who ruled that Areu had failed to provide sufficient evidence to support her claims. However, a new interview with Abby Grossberg, another former Fox News employee, has raised new questions about Carlson’s behavior and his involvement in the workplace culture at Fox News. In 2022, she moved to Tucker Carlson Tonight, where she became head of booking.
In the interview, Grossberg claims that Carlson was aware of the sexual harassment and discrimination taking place at Fox News and that he actively participated in it. She also alleges that Carlson made derogatory comments about women and minorities and that he created a toxic work environment for female employees.
Carlson has denied these allegations, and Fox News has stated support of him. However, the interview has sparked renewed scrutiny of Carlson’s behavior and his role at Fox News.
