FM Sitharaman meets Japan Bank for International Cooperation’s governor in Incheon

India’s Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, recently met with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Masato Miyachi, during her visit to Incheon, South Korea. The meeting was held to discuss strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
In her meeting with Miyachi, Sitharaman highlighted the importance of Japan as a key partner in India’s economic growth. She also expressed her appreciation for JBIC’s continued support for Indian infrastructure projects.
Miyachi, on his part, reaffirmed JBIC’s commitment to supporting India’s development and shared his optimism about the potential for further collaboration between the two countries. He also expressed his desire to deepen JBIC’s involvement in India’s infrastructure sector, which has been a key focus of the bank’s lending activities in the country.
The meeting between Sitharaman and Miyachi is part of a larger effort to strengthen economic ties between India and Japan. The two countries have a long-standing partnership, with Japan being one of the largest investors in India’s infrastructure sector. Japan has also been a key source of technology and expertise for India’s manufacturing industry.
