LinkedIn vs. Reality: The Corporate Catfish
LinkedIn: “Thrilled to announce my promotion to Senior Synergy Specialist!”
Reality: The title got fancier, and my email signature looks important, but guess what? My workload just tripled, my stress levels skyrocketed, and my salary? Oh, that stayed exactly the same.
Now, instead of just doing my job, I’m also:
✔️ Attending twice as many meetings where nothing gets decided
✔️ Juggling new “exciting opportunities” (a.k.a. work nobody else wanted)
✔️ Answering emails with extra enthusiasm so people think I’m thriving
Meanwhile, my inbox is blowing up with “Congrats on your promotion!” messages. If only they knew I was just one more task away from responding with: “Please send financial support.”
Corporate life: Where they rebrand your job, call it “growth,” and somehow convince you to be grateful for it.
