Adhara Pérez Sánchez is a name that has taken the world by storm. This Mexican child prodigy, who hails from Mexico City, has an IQ of 162, which is higher than that of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. At just 13 years old, Adhara is already set to receive her master’s degree in engineering, and she aspires to be an astronaut at NASA.

Adhara’s story is an inspiration for all. At the age of three, she was diagnosed with autism, which is a developmental disability. She was a victim of bullying, and unkind behavior from other kids and even teachers made her parents change schools three times. Soon after that, she began to isolate herself from others. Her mother, Nayeli Sánchez, revealed to Marie Claire Mexico “The teachers were not very empathetic, they told me that they wished she would finish an assignment. She began to exclude herself, she did not want to play with her classmates, she felt strange, different.”

Despite the challenges, Adhara taught herself algebra and memorized the periodic table at a very young age. She completed elementary school at the age of five, and by the time she was six, she had completed middle school and high school. At 11, she had already received a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from CNCI University. Currently, she is studying to earn a master’s program in mathematics at the Technological University of Mexico, and she aspires to study astrophysics at the University of Arizona.

Adhara’s love for space has led her to work with the Mexican Space Agency, where she helps young girls in space exploration and mathematics. She is also finishing her G tests, which could open doors for her to get into NASA as a young scientist. According to reports, when she passes the tests, Adhara will be 17 years old and will be the first autistic person to fly.
