Nandini Gupta, a 19-year-old from Kota, Rajasthan, was crowned Miss India 2023 at the Indoor Stadium in Imphal. The first runner-up was Delhi’s Shreya Poonja, and the second runner-up was Manipur’s Thounaojam Strela.

Gupta’s interest in event management was evident since childhood when she hosted extracurricular activities. She pursued her passion at Lala Lajpat Rai College after finishing high school at St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School.

Gupta believes in giving back to society and looks up to Priyanka Chopra and Ratan Tata as her inspirations. Gupta admires Chopra for her philanthropic work and looks up to Tata for his charitable donations.

Gupta’s passion for promoting Indian handloom led her to support the social cause “Kota Doriya,” a lightweight and airy fabric from Kota, Rajasthan, made by traditional weavers. Gupta aims to promote Indian handloom on a national and global level, showcasing the beauty and craftsmanship of Indian textiles.

As the newly crowned Miss India 2023, Gupta will represent India at the Miss World pageant in the UAE. She believes that rejections play a crucial role in shaping an individual’s personality.
