India has traditionally been a male-dominated society with men occupying the majority of positions of power in various industries. However, the importance of women in the workforce is gradually being recognized, and efforts are being made to educate the female population. Despite the progress, the percentage of women entrepreneurs in India remains quite low at 13.76% as of 2022.
Amidst this scenario, Chhavi Singh’s Nestroots stands out as a beacon of hope for women entrepreneurs in India. With a passion for design and a commitment to eco-friendliness, Chhavi founded Nestroots, which offers home decor solutions using organic, all-natural, and sustainable materials.
Chhavi’s entrepreneurial journey gained national recognition when she appeared on Shark Tank India season 2, where she secured funding from Namita Thapar, the owner of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. The Sharks were impressed by Nestroots’ profitability and the quality of their designs.
Speaking about her brand, Chhavi said, “Nestroots is a dream house of design, aesthetics, and elegance. Our goal is to create work that is honest and solutions that are captivating and fulfilling. We work with the belief that the journey should be just as exciting as the end result.”
Nestroots offers a range of kitchen, dining, decor, and furnishing solutions that are Indian in origin and have found a place in over 1 lakh Indian homes. Their products stand out for their original style and quality, and their focus on responsible sourcing ensures more ecologically sound products.
