Olivia Morris, the RRR actor, expresses joy and pride as “Naatu Naatu” wins the Oscars
Olivia Morris, the British actor who played Tarak’s love interest in the film RRR, expressed her gratitude towards director SS Rajamouli for making her part of the award-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’. The song was honored with the Best Original Song award at the 95th Academy Awards, along with Kartiki Gonsalves’ The Elephant Whisperers which won the Best Documentary Short Film award. Lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR celebrated the feat in Los Angeles with the director and the music team, led by composer MM Keeravani.
Olivia Morris congratulated the team on Twitter by reposting The Academy’s post announcing the song’s victory. She also shared another post with a star emoji. Actor Deepika Padukone introduced the performance of ‘Naatu Naatu’ at the Oscars and called it a ‘banger’. Olivia shared the same video and tweeted that it was a ‘total banger’. She later took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note about her excitement for the RRR team. She thanked SS Rajamouli for bringing her on board and remembered how she was overwhelmed by the song’s energy when she heard it for the first time.
Although Olivia Morris was missing from all international promotions from the Golden Globes to the Oscars, she expressed her gratitude for being associated with this now-global sensation. Earlier, she congratulated the team on their Golden Globe and Oscar nominations and wrote that the ‘Naatu Naatu’ sequence was her favorite thing to work on in RRR, and it was made possible by SS Rajamouli and MM Keeravani. She expressed her gratitude for being a part of this epic film.
