SOFIA FRANK GOLD WINNER OF THE ASIAN SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP

Sofia Frank’s full name is “Sofia Lexi Jacqueline Frank”. She is a Filipino-American figure skater who has accumulated 93.78 points in the free skating category of the annual competition. She was born on the 6th of October, 2005 in Los Angeles, U.S. At the age of 17 years, she participated in and won the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy held in Jakarta, Indonesia. She also participated in the Short program with 53.86 “world Junior championship 2022”.

Frank was introduced to skating at the age of three with her family later moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be able to train at the World Arena. She is the third child of former Filipino beauty queen Precious Tongko, who was crowned 1990 Binibining Pilipinas Maja International, and Noah Frank, an American.

After achieving great success and winning gold at the Asian free skating championship, Frank thanked the Philippine Skating Union, by saying that competing in the tournament was an “amazing experience”. she also wrote in her Instagram post on December 10, 2022, ” Such an amazing experience, I loved meeting everyone and thank you for the support”.

After winning the medals in the annual Colorado Springs Invitational and breaking several Philippine records in an international competition she became the country’s first female qualifier for the 2022 World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
