Sophie Ingle, a key figure in women’s soccer, has decided to relinquish her role as the captain of the Wales team

Sophie Ingle, the player from Wales, has chosen to stop being the captain of the team. She led the team for nine years, but now she thinks it’s the right moment to let someone else be the leader.

In 2015, when she was 23, Ingle became the captain, taking over from Jess Fishlock. She said being the captain helped her become more confident and build strong relationships with her teammates.

During her time as captain, Ingle played in 136 matches for Wales. Recently, she led the team to a big win against Croatia. Even though she’s not the captain anymore, she still wants to help the team do well. But the Wales Football Association hasn’t said who will be the new captain.

Ingle said being the captain was the best part of her career, but she thinks it’s time for someone else to have that role. She wants the new captain to experience the same things she did.

She said there are many players in the team who could be great captains. Ingle will keep supporting and guiding the team however she can.

Besides playing, Ingle got an award for her work in football. She also played a lot of games in the Women’s Super League and won it four times with Chelsea.

So, Sophie Ingle has decided to stop being the captain of the Wales team after leading them for nine years. She thinks it’s time for someone new to lead, but she’ll still help the team succeed.
