In today’s digital age, our eyes are constantly exposed to blue light from screens, causing strain and weakening of eyesight in the long run. Ayurveda expert Dr. Dimple Jangda recommends three ways for women to reduce pressure on their eyes and care for them.
Firstly, for those who do not use power glasses, wearing reading glasses that cancel blue light while reading on screens can cut down on strain.
Secondly, after a long day of working with computers, using cooling products like grated cucumber, cucumber juice, rose water, and tea bags with flavonoids can reduce inflammation and heat around the eyes.
Lastly, using kajal with almond oil or ghee on the lower eyelid can improve good heat (pitta) and help the tear ducts release tears, flushing out allergens and dust. Dr. Jangda emphasizes that blue light exposure from screens is a modern lifestyle issue affecting women’s eyes. Hence, taking care of our eyes through simple measures can go a long way in preventing damage and preserving good vision.
