West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Urges More Women To Join The Police Force
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has urged more women to join the police force during the felicitation ceremony of the Kolkata Police on Thursday.
The chief minister addressed the need for more women police in the state, “We want more women to join the police force. We are recruiting women cops for the winners’ brigade. They are very smart and can join the forces after three months of training.” She also added, “In many places, I saw assaulting a male cop is easy. But, it is not easy to assault a woman. Which is why I want women to take a bigger part in the police force.”
The CM also urges women to be IPS aspirants. “They will be in the front and men will follow them. I believe if a team of 20 women cops take out their bikes together, they can work smartly at checkpoints and fight against corruption, anti-social activities, and murders,” the chief minister said.
