Women Cricketers Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar made massive ODI World Record
Indian Women Cricket players Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar together made 122 runs in the last match and broke a record in Women’s Cricket ODI
On 6th March 2022 history was made in the Women’s Cricket World Cup. As India won against Pakistan, Indian team players Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar together made 122 runs. This is not only the highest runs made by any partnership in this World Cup but also the highest runs by partners in all of Women’s Cricket ODIs.
The previous record was by New Zealand’s NJ Browne and SJ Tsukigawa who had made 104 runs together in an ODI in 2007 against England in Chennai. But making 122 runs together, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar have broken this record.
Sneh Rana had walked in as the 7th player when the Indian team had little hope to win the match, after India’s skipper Mithali Raj got out at 9 runs. Sneh Rana displayed outstanding performance by scoring 53 runs out of 48 balls. Pooja Vastrakar scored 67 runs out of 59 balls. The match also had outstanding performances by Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma who made 90 runs in their partnership.
Overall, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar missed India’s all-time highest partnership for the seventh wicket, male or female, by just three runs. The combination of R Ashwin and MS Dhoni had scored an unbeaten 125-run partnership against Pakistan in 2012.
