Women’s potential crucial for India’s 10% growth trajectory

In recent years, India has been doing really well economically. The country is aiming to become a major player in the global economy. India’s growth has been strong, with its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increasing faster than many other countries, especially those in similar positions. But if India wants to keep growing steadily at a rate of 10%, it needs more women to join the workforce.

Right now, not enough women are working in India compared to other countries. But there’s good news: more and more women are starting to work. In rural areas, especially, women are getting involved in different types of jobs, like skilled farming work.

In some fields, like aviation, India is leading the way in having more female workers. For example, India has the highest number of female pilots compared to other countries. About 15% of all pilots in India are women, which is much higher than the global average of 5%.

The government is also doing a lot to encourage women to work. They’ve made laws to make sure women are treated fairly at work and paid the same as men. They’ve also started programs to help women start their own businesses and get loans easily.

One big program, called the lakhpati didi program, is helping rural women learn useful skills and start their own businesses. They’re taught things like plumbing and making LED bulbs, which can help them become entrepreneurs.

But even with all these efforts, India still has a long way to go in getting more women to work. If India can double the number of women in the workforce by 2025, it could really help the country’s economy grow even more. So, it’s important for India to focus on getting more women into jobs to keep its economy growing strong.

India knows that women are crucial for its economic success. By making sure women have equal opportunities to work, India can keep growing and become one of the world’s top economies. So, including women in the workforce is a big part of India’s plan for success.
