Amy Schumer recently found herself in hot water after posting a photo of Nicole Kidman at the US Open on her Instagram account. In the image, Kidman appeared deeply engrossed in the women’s singles final between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka, which took place on September 9th at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Dressed in a pink dress with a white jacket, Kidman’s wide-eyed expression caught Schumer’s attention.

Schumer’s caption for the photo, “This how human sit,” was meant to be humorous but quickly backfired, with many accusing the comedian of cyberbullying Kidman. Critics argued that such behavior reflects one’s own insecurities and called for more respect for people’s feelings. Disappointed fans expressed their surprise, expecting better from one of their favorite comedians.

Realizing her misstep, Schumer promptly deleted the post and issued an apology. In her mea culpa, she humorously remarked that Kidman looked like “an alien.” She also cheekily referenced a situation involving Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who wrote letters in support of convicted rapist Danny Masterson, hinting at seeking forgiveness in a lighthearted manner.

While Kidman hasn’t responded to Schumer’s jest, she did congratulate Gauff on her US Open victory via Instagram Stories. Kidman’s message read, “Congratulations Coco!” with a photo of Gauff, lauding the US Open for a great women’s final.

Schumer attended the women’s final alongside her husband, Chris Fischer, both donning pink attire for the occasion. After Gauff’s victory, Schumer took to Instagram again, applauding the tennis sensation for her remarkable win.
