They say that true leadership isn’t about the titles you hold, but the lives you touch. Recently, I had the privilege of experiencing this firsthand during a personal meeting with Uha Sajja. While her professional portfolio is a formidable blend of corporate strategy and social advocacy, it is her profound humility and genuine empathy that leave the most lasting impression. Spending just an hour in her company was more than a professional meeting; it was an education in purposeful living.

The Woman Behind the Words

While the business world knows Uha through her impressive tenure at global giants like Oracle, KPMG, and Deloitte, there is a deeply creative heart beating beneath the corporate exterior. Uha is a celebrated voice in Telugu literature, having authored “Isuka Addam,” “Balkaav,” and “Sikka.” Her writing isn’t just a hobby; it is a reflection of her soul. Through her books, she explores the complexities of the human condition and the quiet power of resilience. It is this same literary sensitivity that she brings to her social work—an ability to read between the lines of a person’s struggle and offer not just a solution, but true understanding.

From Corporate Boardrooms to Grassroots Change

One of the most compelling parts of our conversation was hearing about her “turning point.” Transitioning from an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a career in multinational systems to the social sector wasn’t a random choice—it was a calling.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Uha’s volunteer work in the Kamareddy district changed her trajectory. She witnessed how a small hand of support—teaching a widow to use a smartphone or manage a bank account—could transform a life. This commitment to “moving the needle” is what led her to WE Hub, India’s first state-led initiative for women entrepreneurs. Here, she uses her PMP (Project Management Professional) rigor to design programs that provide real-world resources and mentorship to women who are ready to beat the odds.

On behalf of SheSight, I am truly honored to collaborate with an institution as impactful as WE Hub. Working alongside Uha reminded me why these partnerships are the backbone of social progress.

Uha has a rare gift for making complex, daunting goals feel achievable. Whether we were discussing financial literacy, policy advocacy, or safe working environments, her approach was always grounded in the reality of the women she serves. Her help and the understanding she extended during our time together were invaluable, bridging the gap between high-level strategy and grassroots execution.

Looking Toward a Shared Future

As we look ahead, SheSight is incredibly hopeful for our continued alliance with WE Hub. It is through these strategic collaborations that we can create a platform for more formidable personalities like Uha to share their wisdom.

The world needs more leaders who balance the logic of a banker with the heart of a storyteller. Women like Uha Sajja don’t just inspire stories; they change the economic and social fabric of our society. It was an honor to work with her, and I look forward to the many lives we will impact together in the future.
