Bhavya, the girl topper in JEE Advanced 2023, credits her success to the inspiration she found in the words of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. With a score of 298 out of 360 marks, Bhavya aims to pursue a BTech in computer science engineering from IIT Bombay.
Originally from Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh, Bhavya’s father is a math teacher, and her mother teaches physics. Recognizing her aptitude for math, physics, and chemistry at a young age, Bhavya decided to prepare for the IIT in Class 8. She dedicated 12 to 13 hours a day to her studies at Narayana Junior College in Hyderabad.
Bhavya found inspiration in Dr. Kalam’s speeches about fearlessness in the face of failure and staying composed during challenges. These ideas resonated deeply with her and continue to drive her toward her dreams of establishing her identity in society.
Believing in the importance of both preparation and temperament during exams, Bhavya focused on eliminating careless errors and thoroughly preparing herself. Math is her strongest subject, and she attributes her success to her parents and the Narayana institution.
Having achieved this milestone, Bhavya now aspires to pursue higher studies abroad and sees herself as a mathematician researcher, or entrepreneur in the next decade. Her journey has also motivated her sister to chase her own IIT dreams.
