Ellyse Perry Impresses with Bowling Performance at WPL 2023
In the midst of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, the Royal
Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been struggling to secure victories.
However, in their latest game against UP Warriorz, RCB finally registered their first win of the season. Kanika Ahuja played a crucial role in their win, scoring 46 runs in the run chase. Meanwhile, Ellyse Perry, the Australian cricketing star, impressed with her bowling performance, taking three wickets and conceding just 16 runs in RCB’s first innings.
But it was Perry’s impressive display of speed that made headlines, as she bowled the fastest delivery ever recorded in women’s T20 cricket. Bowling to Sophie Ecclestone, Perry’s delivery was clocked at 130.5 kmph, breaking the previous record held by Shabnim Ismail.
Despite the win, RCB is still struggling in the tournament, currently sitting in fourth place with only two points in six games. They will have to win their remaining matches against Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians to have a chance at securing a spot in the playoffs. However, they will also have to rely on other
teams’ results to make it to the next stage of the tournament.
The WPL 2023 has been an exciting tournament so far, with Mumbai Indians dominating every team they have faced. Women’s cricket has been growing in popularity around the world, and this league provides a platform for talented female cricketers to showcase their skills on the global stage.
As the tournament progresses, it will be interesting to see which team will emerge as the champion of the Women’s Premier League 2023.
