Rinzing Choden Bhutia was at a crossroads. After living in big cities for years, she wanted to go back to her roots in Sikkim. She missed the peace and simplicity of her hometown. When her first child was born in 2013, Rinzing knew it was time to return home.

At first, Rinzing planned to build an eco-friendly homestay on her family’s land. But then she discovered a new passion – making natural skincare products. She was inspired by the traditional recipes passed down through generations in the Himalayas.

This is how Agapi Sikkim was born. Rinzing’s skincare brand is all about using natural ingredients and traditional knowledge to create products that are good for the skin and the planet. But Rinzing’s vision went beyond just making skincare products. She wanted to help women in Sikkim become financially independent and preserve the state’s rich heritage.

Today, Agapi Sikkim has trained over 450 women in the art of natural skincare production. Many of these women have started their own businesses, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and entrepreneurship. Rinzing’s initiative has changed her own life and the lives of many women in Sikkim.

Rinzing’s story is a reminder that even small actions can make a big difference when we’re driven by passion and commitment.
