Having Anxiety attacks? Here’s what you can do
Experiencing anxiety attacks can be a difficult and overwhelming experience. However, there are several things that you can do to help manage and cope with these attacks.
Firstly, it’s important to acknowledge and accept your feelings. Trying to suppress or ignore your anxiety may only worsen the situation. Instead, try to focus on your breathing and practice deep breathing exercises to help calm your body and mind. You can also try progressive muscle relaxation techniques to help ease muscle tension and reduce overall anxiety levels.
Another helpful technique is to challenge negative thoughts and replace them with more positive and rational ones. This can be done by asking yourself questions like, “Is this thought based on facts or assumptions? Or what evidence do I have to support this thought? This can help to reduce the intensity of the anxiety and provide a more realistic perspective.
Additionally, creating a calming environment can also be helpful. This could include listening to relaxing music, practicing meditation or yoga, or taking a warm bath.
It’s important to find what works best for you and make it a part of your routine. It’s also important to seek professional help if you find that your anxiety attacks are interfering with your daily life. A therapist or counselor can work with you to develop coping strategies and provide additional support.
