IPS Simala Prasad: Bollywood to UPSC
IPS officer Simala Prasad has achieved remarkable success by pursuing her passion for acting in Bollywood movies while also cracking the highly competitive UPSC CSE exam on her first attempt without coaching.
Simala Prasad, born in Bhopal, completed her education in Madhya Pradesh and holds a post-graduation degree in Sociology from Barkatullah University. Her father is an IAS officer and former MP, while her mother is a renowned writer.
After securing a job as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) through the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission exam, Simala aimed for the UPSC CSE exam despite her demanding police career. Without specialized coaching, she dedicated her off-duty hours to self-preparation.
Her efforts paid off in 2010 when she successfully cracked the UPSC CSE and joined the esteemed IPS cadre. Currently, she serves as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Betul, Madhya Pradesh.
Alongside her police career, Simala has nurtured her passion for arts and dance since childhood. She actively participated in dance programs and acted in school and college plays. In the world of cinema, she has appeared in Hindi films such as “Alif” (2017) and “Nakkash” (2019), showcasing her acting skills.
