Stephanie McMahon’s Return to WWE Amid Potential Sale Rumours
Stephanie McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), who resigned from her post in January this year, might make a dramatic return to the company amid ongoing talks of a potential sale. According to a report by Fightful Select, rumored buyers are interested in bringing back Stephanie McMahon to the company. The sources have disclosed that the companies are following news cycles and are aware of what makes the audience and staff happy. Stephanie, who has been a part of WWE since the 1990s, was initially an in-ring competitor and has been a prominent figure in the company for decades.
With Stephanie’s resignation, her father Vince McMahon was elected as the new chairman of WWE again. However, it is being learned that the potential buyers have no desire to keep Vince involved in WWE. Vince had to relinquish his post in June 2022 after allegations of sexual assault were leveled against him. Nick Khan has been appointed as the sole CEO of WWE after Stephanie decided to step down as the co-CEO of the company.
The much-awaited WrestleMania 39 is scheduled to take place this weekend, and the potential buyers could make a move to purchase the high-profile company. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is set to feature in a highly anticipated bout against Cody Rhodes, while Gunther will defend his Intercontinental title against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. Asuka will be up against Bianca Belair in a bid to clinch the Raw Women’s Championship, and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will take on The Usos to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at the showpiece event.
