Founded in 2018, the SuperShe Island is an oasis for women to spend a few days taking care of their physical as well as mental wellbeing.
SuperShe Island is located off the coast of the Baltic Sea near Raasepori, Finland. The Island encompasses 8.4 acres of scenic forest-covered land surrounded by inky-blue sea. The ground is covered in a thick layer of emerald green moss along with lush ferns, juniper and blueberry bushes on the forest floor. Imagine waking up with the sound of chirping birds and spending your whole day in the lap of nature, participating in various activities with other inspiring women around the world! Apart from the picturesque view, the Island also offers various wellness programmes and fun activities; such as, yoga, fitness classes, cookery classes, farm-to-table dining, kayaking, and hiking. The island has gained plenty of attention from the media worldwide due to the price of a week-long stay being around 4,000 euros. Back in 2018, the prospective guests had to go through a rigorous selection process, which included submitting an application form and answering questions like “why are you visiting the island?” and “how can a solo trip benefit you?” among others followed by an interview taken by the owner herself. Hence, some critics labeled the project as snobbish. As of now, if you want to go on this exclusive vacation retreat, you need to fill out a form and be a member of the SuperShe community as the Island is only for the active members of the SuperShe community. Any woman devoid of her race and ethnicity can be a life-long member of this community, where women around the world help each other live healthy and empowered lives.
