Speaking at an event hosted by the Indian Embassy, Raimondo recounted her recent interactions with PM Modi during her visit to India. She described the PM as the most popular world leader and lauded his deep commitment to eradicating poverty and driving India’s growth as a global power.

Raimondo, who led a high-powered business delegation to India last month, discussed key areas of shared interest with top Indian leadership during the India-US Commercial Dialogue and India-US CEO Forum meeting. She highlighted the need for the United States and India to lead the world in the development of a democratic technology ecosystem that aligns with their shared values.

Raimondo also expressed optimism about the future of India-US relations, saying that the two countries are entering a new era of deeper collaboration and partnership as equal partners.

During her visit, Raimondo met with a diverse range of Indian women, including weavers, artisans, unicorn entrepreneurs, investors, and CEOs. She praised the rich culture and traditions of India and emphasized the importance of deepening the relationship between the United States and India. The Commerce Secretary’s participation in the Holi celebrations at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence also reflected the growing warmth and strong relationship between the US and India.
