WPL 2023: Mumbai Indians to Face UP Warriorz in WPL Eliminator
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is nearing its end with the Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, set to clash with Alyssa Healy’s UP Warriorz in the Eliminator at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. The winner will face the Delhi Capitals in the final on Sunday.
Mumbai Indians had won five consecutive matches before losing to UP Warriorz, the same opposition they will face in the Eliminator. The UP Warriorz won by five wickets led by Sophie Ecclestone, Tahila McGrath, and Grace Harris. However, in a previous clash, Mumbai Indians had defeated the UP Warriorz by eight wickets with Saika Ishaque, Yastika Bhatia, and Nat Sciver-Brunt leading the way.
Mumbai Indians faced another setback with a nine-wicket loss to the Delhi Capitals, which knocked them off the top of the table. They were eventually pipped by the Delhi Capitals, who secured a direct passage to the final due to their better net run rate.
UP Warriorz finished third in the league with four wins and four losses. They would be looking to their captain Healy and McGrath to lead the way in the Eliminator. For Mumbai Indians, skipper Harmanpreet and Amelia Kerr have been in good form, while Ishaque has shone with the ball.
