AI Is the Future of Hiring, But Humans Still Hold the Key: ShePower Forum Reveals Critical Balance
ShePower Forum 2025 reveals how AI transforms hiring—and why human judgment remains essential. Expert insights from top HR leaders on smart recruitment
SheSight Global’s latest forum brings together HR leaders to decode how AI is transforming talent acquisition—and why human judgment remains irreplaceable
In an era where recruitment processes can make or break organizational success, business leaders gathered virtually on November 29, 2025, for the ShePower Forum to explore a pressing question: How can AI help companies hire the best talent without losing the human touch?
Organized by SheSight Global in association with Praline HR Solution LLP, the invite-only event, “How to Use AI for Hiring the Best Talents?” drew business owners and organizational leaders eager to understand AI’s role in modern recruitment. Dr. CV, founder of SheSight Global, opened the session by introducing the ShePower movement and its mission to empower women globally through knowledge-sharing and professional development.
The Panel: Three Perspectives on AI-Driven Hiring
Event Director Pooja Upadhyaya, CEO of ProHire HR Solution and Founder of HerAwaaz Foundation, moderated a dynamic discussion featuring two seasoned HR professionals:
- V. Anuradha, General Manager (HR, IR, Welfare & Admin) at Sitaram Spinners, brought insights from the manufacturing sector
- Sumit Sarabhai, Chief Business Officer at Spectrum Talent Management Ltd, shared expertise from the broader talent management landscape
The hour-long forum tackled everything from unconscious bias to the future of recruitment technology, offering practical guidance for organizations at various stages of AI adoption.
The Recruitment Crisis AI Aims to Solve
The panelists quickly established common ground: traditional recruitment methods can no longer keep pace with today’s rapidly evolving job market. The challenges are multifaceted—processing massive volumes of applications, reducing time-to-hire, improving quality of hire, and sourcing candidates at scale.
“AI is essential because of the rapid pace of change in the job market and the need to process large volumes of data efficiently,” the panel agreed. Sumit emphasized that AI addresses several critical pain points: reducing unconscious human bias, identifying passive job seekers who aren’t actively applying, and streamlining the coordination nightmare that often bogs down recruitment teams.
Anuradha highlighted how AI significantly reduces the time-consuming nature of traditional recruitment, a particularly valuable benefit in manufacturing where high-volume hiring is common. “Proper programming is crucial to avoid bias,” Sumit stressed, noting that AI tools like audio interviews can be especially useful for initial candidate screening across various industries.
AI as Augmentation, Not Replacement
A central theme emerged throughout the discussion: AI transforms recruitment processes but doesn’t replace recruiters. Sumit outlined how AI can automate audio calls and conduct preliminary interviews with robotic moderators, freeing human recruiters to focus on relationship-building and nuanced evaluation.
However, he was quick to dispel common misconceptions. “AI doesn’t automatically eliminate bias—it requires careful programming,” Sumit cautioned. “It’s not plug-and-play technology that works perfectly out of the box.” Instead, AI should be treated as a tool to inform decision-making rather than make final hiring choices.
This perspective resonated with Anuradha, who shared her manufacturing sector experience. While AI effectively filters candidates and offers efficiency in screening, she emphasized that human judgment remains crucial for final decisions, particularly when assessing soft skills like empathy, cultural fit, and interpersonal abilities that algorithms struggle to measure accurately.
Industry Adaptability and Real-World Application
When Pooja raised questions about AI’s adaptability across different industries, Sumit acknowledged that while AI tools are fundamentally versatile, their application varies based on industry-specific criteria and requirements. A tech startup’s hiring needs differ dramatically from a manufacturing plant’s, and AI systems must be configured accordingly.
Anuradha provided a candid real-world example from her organization. After implementing AI screening, she noticed discrepancies between AI suggestions and candidates she had manually rejected. This experience underscored an important lesson: understanding job roles deeply and using AI to bridge skill gaps rather than blindly following its recommendations.
“AI can enhance recruitment by automating routine tasks, optimizing job descriptions, and improving candidate communication,” both speakers agreed, “but human oversight remains essential at every stage.”
The Path Forward: Upskilling and Strategic Implementation
The panel’s advice for organizations considering AI adoption was pragmatic and phased. Sumit discussed the critical need for upskilling and reskilling within HR teams to leverage AI effectively. He highlighted AI’s potential in creating internal talent marketplaces that help organizations redeploy existing employees into new roles based on skills and potential.
Rather than viewing AI as a threat, the panelists urged business leaders to embrace it as a tool that enhances rather than replaces human expertise. Their recommendation? Start with high-impact problems—perhaps initial resume screening or interview scheduling—and gradually scale AI usage across the entire talent lifecycle.
Anuradha’s manufacturing perspective added valuable context: even in traditional industries, AI can modernize processes without requiring complete organizational overhaul. The key is identifying specific pain points where AI delivers measurable value, then expanding from there.
A New Era of Recruitment
As the ShePower Forum concluded, participants left with a clearer understanding of AI’s role in recruitment: powerful yet limited, efficient yet requiring human guidance, transformative yet not a complete solution.
The message was clear—AI is reshaping how organizations find and evaluate talent, but the most successful recruitment strategies will combine technological capability with human wisdom. Companies that master this balance will gain a significant competitive advantage in the war for talent.
For business owners and organizational leaders, the imperative is to begin exploring AI tools now, but to do so thoughtfully, with proper training, clear objectives, and an understanding that technology serves human decision-making rather than replacing it.
