New Delhi, September 4, 2023 – Revenue Minister Atishi has issued a directive to government officials, urging the prompt release of pending salaries for civil defence volunteers. The unpaid salaries, which have accumulated over several months, are causing growing concern.

Addressing Principal Secretary (Revenue) Ashwani Kumar, Atishi emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, “It has come to my attention that civil defence volunteers have not received their salaries for the past several months. This situation is alarming and should be addressed immediately.”

She further instructed the official to work closely with the Finance Department to ensure that the salaries of all civil defence volunteers are disbursed within a week. Atishi also took the opportunity to commend the invaluable contributions of these volunteers during the pandemic.

The civil defence volunteers have played a crucial role in the national capital during the COVID-19 crisis. They have tirelessly assisted countless Delhi residents, providing support in mobilizing people and delivering essential relief services to those in need.

Atishi’s call for swift action reflects the government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the dedication of civil defence volunteers who have been at the forefront of providing assistance during these challenging times.
