The Civil Services Examination is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India for recruitment to higher Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. Ms Shakti who graduated with an engineering degree in computer science and also has a Msc in Economics, appeared in the UPSC civil services exam in 2019. She secured the 79th rank in her previous attempt, and got selected as an IPS officer. However, she had bigger dreams and wanted to become an IAS officer. Therefore, she continued to prepare for the exam along with her training in IPS and appeared for the UPSC 2022 examinations, where her hard work finally paid off as she secured the 58th rank at the All India level this year.
When her parents were asked about her success they said, “Her success means a lot and is also full of learnings and experiences.” Her father, Dhirendra Kumar Singh who is an ex- superintendent of Government Medical College Hospital, GMCH, Bettiah, Bihar proudly said that his daughter had always made her own decisions. “Every sincere student is his or her best judge and guardian should cooperate and enlighten the dream they nurse,” he added.
