Young leaders take center stage at CSW67 interactive dialogue

In an interactive dialogue held during the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), young leaders were given the opportunity to share their experiences and insights on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event was co-organized by UN Women and the International Labour Organization (ILO) and provided a platform for young people to engage in discussions with policymakers, activists, and experts.

The dialogue highlighted the important role that young people can play in advancing gender equality and addressing the challenges faced by women and girls. The young leaders shared their experiences of activism and advocacy, as well as their visions for a more equitable and inclusive world.

The speakers discussed a range of issues, including the need to promote women’s leadership and political participation, ensure access to quality education and healthcare, and address gender-based violence and discrimination. They emphasized the importance of engaging men and boys as allies in the fight for gender equality, and the need to work toward a world where all individuals are valued and respected
regardless of their gender identity or expression.

The event also featured a panel discussion on the future of work and the role of young people in shaping the future of work to be more equitable and inclusive. The speakers emphasized the need for policies that
support work-life balance and promote equal opportunities for women and men, as well as the importance of investing in education and training to prepare young people for the changing world of work.

The interactive dialogue provided a platform for young leaders to voice their perspectives and insights on gender equality and women’s empowerment. It highlighted the important role that young people can play in advancing these issues and emphasized the need for continued investment in young people’s leadership and participation in decision-making processes.
