Maasi’s Cafe in Cardiff Named Best Place to Eat

Maasi’s, a Pakistani cafe in Cardiff, has won the title of the best place to eat in the city at The Wales Food Awards 2023.
Owned by Sabrina Khan, the café is located in a church hall and serves traditional family recipes.
Sabrina, a former teacher, started the business during the lockdown after her homemade samosas gained popularity. She wanted to create a safe space where her mother and other women could feel comfortable eating alone.
The all-women team at Maasi’s prepares delicious Pakistani breakfast and lunch dishes from scratch, including their famous samosas and unique “Naanwiches” and shakshuka served with parathas.
Since its opening, Maasi’s has gained a loyal customer base through word of mouth and has been nominated and awarded in multiple food competitions.
Sabrina’s vision for Maasi’s goes beyond food; she aims to empower women from her community by providing them with employment opportunities and professional kitchen experience.
The café operates from Wednesday to Sunday, offering a refreshing alternative to traditional café options with its authentic Pakistani flavors.
