NCERT invited Kendriya Vidyalaya student Nanditha to present a paper at the annual NCME.

High school girl Nanditha Devraj has become the first student to present a paper at the National Conference of Mathematical Education organised by NCERT. This annual conference has been hosted Since 2012 in connection with the National Mathematics Day, which falls on the birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan. This year, the 10th NCME was held at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore, from December 20 to 22.

Both Nanditha and her sister, Niveditha are students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kottayam. At first, they ran numerous batches online to accommodate several students. However, later they trained over 1,000 students over online classes during the pandemic and helped to make maths easy as well as interesting for kids. In addition to this, this year, they reached more kids and were successful in training them.

At the conference, She explored the digital domain for result-oriented mathematics education, based on the online Vedic mathematics classes that she started along with her sister during the first lockdown in March 2020. Moreover, Nanditha has  presented her paper along with 50 experts from various educational institutions across India.

Her father, P. Devraj has been doing research on Indian mathematics after quitting his profession as an automobile engineer. At the conference, he also showcased a presentation on Indigenous methods to find the surface area and volume of a sphere.

After all, presenting a paper at a conference organised by NCERT at this young age has definitely made both of the sisters an inspiration for various students in India. Nanditha and her sister aspire to teach maths to more kids, especially to the ones who are frightened by the subject. So that, they get past the fear and can grasp mathematical concepts.
