Woman of substance! Sweeper clears Rajasthan Administrative Service Examination, to become deputy collector

Asha Kandara, a mother of two kids who swept the streets of Jodhpur, has cleared Rajasthan Administrative Service Examination.

It’s said that “Where there is a will, there is a way“. Asha Kandara, has proved this. She is a mother of two kids who swept the streets of Jodhpur, which has now become an inspiration for many people by clearing the prestigious state civil service examination. Eight years ago, she separated from her husband. She was the single parent of 2 kids. She completed her graduation while shouldering the responsibility of bringing up her two children.

Kandara appeared for the Rajasthan Civil Service Examination two years ago, but the result declaration got delayed. After twelve days, she took the exam, she got a job as a sweeper with the Jodhpur Municipal Corporation. The mother swept the streets of Jodhpur for her and her kids’ survival while waiting for the RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) result. 

Recently, the result was announced and she passed the exam with flying colours. Her happiness knew no bounds when she learnt that she has cleared the highly competitive exam. She will soon be appointed as a deputy collector in the state. She has proved that no barrier can stop a woman if she is determined to achieve what she wants. She gave the credit of her success to her family members.
