For the first time ever, a remarkable spectacle is set to grace Chhattisgarh’s Independence Day celebration in Raipur. A band of women police officers, skillfully trained in bagpipe playing, will take the stage in front of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The novel addition to this year’s festivities was introduced by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Prashant Agrawal.

Preparations for the anticipated performance are in full swing at Raipur’s police parade ground. The unique bagpiper band is the brainchild of Chhattisgarh’s senior police officials and consists of 35 dedicated policewomen hailing from the 20th Battalion CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) stationed in Mahasamund.

Having undergone a specialized month-long training in Panchkula, Chandigarh, the band members are now proficient in the art of bagpipe playing. SSP Prashant Agrawal shared, “An all-women bagpiper band will give a special performance at the police parade ground on August 15. The band consists of 35 policewomen from the 20th battalion CAF Mahasamund.”

This pioneering performance marks a powerful step towards breaking gender barriers and promoting inclusivity, demonstrating the capabilities and talents of Chhattisgarh’s women police force.
