Parineeti Chopra, a National Award-winning actress, faced adversity and battled depression during her journey to Bollywood stardom. Despite achieving remarkable success today, her path to fame was riddled with challenges.

Chopra, a bright student, left home at the age of 17 to pursue her higher studies in London, aspiring to become an investment banker. She earned a triple honors degree in business, finance, and economics from Manchester Business School while working part-time at the Manchester United Football Club.

Upon returning to India, Chopra secured an internship in the marketing department of Yash Raj Films. However, her career took an unexpected turn when she realized her true passion was acting. Determined to pursue her dream, she resigned from her executive position at YRF and enrolled in acting school.

Chopra made her Bollywood debut with a supporting role in “Ladies vs Ricky Bahl,” which received mixed reviews but marked the beginning of her acting career. Her breakthrough came with “Ishaqzaade,” where her exceptional performance earned her a National Award Special Mention. Subsequently, she delivered hits like “Shudh Desi Romance” and “Hasee Toh Phasee,” winning acclaim for her roles.

However, her journey took a challenging turn as several of her films failed at the box office, leading to financial woes and personal setbacks. During this tumultuous period, she grappled with depression, isolation, and a sense of hopelessness.

Reflecting on this difficult phase, Chopra revealed, “Two of my films, Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil didn’t work. Suddenly I didn’t have money. I had bought a house and made big investments. Then I went through a big heartbreak in my life. Literally all departments in my life were down, and I had nothing positive to look forward to.”

With the support of her brother and friends, Chopra gradually overcame her depression, focused on self-improvement, regained her health, and revitalized her career. She embarked on a path to becoming physically fitter and signed prominent films like “Golmaal” and “Meri Pyari Bindu.”

Chopra’s inspiring journey serves as a testament to resilience, determination, and the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity. Today, she stands as a successful actress, having recently tied the knot with politician Raghav Chadha and gearing up for her upcoming film, “Mission Raniganj,” scheduled for release on October 6th.
