Lakshmi Venu: The Accomplished Corporate Leader Revolutionizing the Automotive Industry

Lakshmi Venu, daughter of Venu Srinivasan, the Chairman Emeritus of TVS Group, is a highly accomplished and talented corporate leader in India. With a doctorate in Engineering Management from the University of Warwick and graduation from Yale University, Venu leads Sundaram Clayton (SCL), the former flagship company of the group.
Under her leadership, SCL has significantly increased its global footprints, with the establishment of a foundry in the US and building strong relationships with major players such as Cummins, Hyundai, Volvo, Paccar, and Daimler. She is also credited with improving the quality of components manufactured by her company, which is the leading supplier of aluminum die-castings to the automotive and non-automotive sectors.
Recently elevated as the Managing Director of the company, Venu’s hard work is reflected in the company’s sales and profit numbers. The company’s net profit for FY 22 was Rs 2276 crore compared to FY 21’s Rs 75.84 crore.
Venu’s mother is also a successful businesswoman who inherited a separate business empire, the TAFE Group of companies. Her brother, Sudharshan Venu, is the Managing Director of the TVS Group.
Apart from her responsibilities at SCL, Venu is also the Director of Tafe Motors and Tractors Limited, reflecting her specialization in business strategy, corporate affairs, product design, sales, and marketing.
