18-year-old Shrishti Dharmendra Sharma from India has shattered her own Limbo Speed Skating Record, solidifying her position as the “queen of limbo skating”. Previously, in 2021, Shrishti Dharmendra Sharma achieved the fastest time to limbo skate over 50 meters in just 6.94 seconds, surpassing her previous record of 7.38 seconds.
In limbo skating, participants roller skate underneath a horizontal pole without making contact. Shrishti successfully maneuvered under 51 horizontal bars placed only 30 cm (12 inches) above the ground, while maintaining the splits position and ensuring her hands and arms did not touch the floor.
Since the age of 11, Shrishti has been breaking records. She has been an advocate for the “Save a Girl Child” humanitarian project, using her record-breaking attempts to raise awareness for the cause. She believes in the importance of highlighting the significance of girls in society.
Among her previous achievements, Shrishti holds the Guinness World Record for the lowest limbo skating over 25 meters, skating under 25 bars placed at a height of 17 cm. Additionally, she accomplished the lowest limbo ice skating over 10 meters on an ice rink, surpassing a height of 17.78 cm.
As her body grew, setting new records for low limbo skating became more challenging. However, in 2020, Shrishti shifted her focus to limbo speed skating and broke the record for the fastest time to limbo skate under 10 bars, becoming the first person to break the 2-second barrier with a time of 1.72 seconds. In 2021, she improved her own record further, achieving a time of 1.69 seconds.
Shrishti Sharma’s extraordinary skills and determination have firmly established her as a remarkable figure in the world of limbo skating.
