Vangmayi Parakala, the daughter of India’s finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has chosen to lead a simple and private life, away from the public spotlight. Born on May 20, 1991, in Chennai, Vangmayi comes from a prominent family. Her father, Parakala Prabhakar, is a politician and social commentator who held a cabinet rank in the Andhra Pradesh Government and served as Communications Advisor.

Vangmayi pursued her education at Delhi University, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English Literature. She then spent a year in the United States, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Journalism, specializing in magazine and photojournalism. Her Instagram account showcases her passion for photography, featuring beautiful pictures she has captured.

Currently, Vangmayi works as a senior correspondent for a national newspaper, where she focuses on writing features covering art, lifestyle, technology, and books. Throughout her career, she has contributed to various news portals in India and abroad, showcasing her writing skills. Despite her family’s political background, Vangmayi prefers to stay behind the camera rather than in front of it.

Recently, she tied the knot with Prateek in a small ceremony attended by close family members and a few friends. Details about her husband, Prateek, are still limited, and not much information is available about him at this time.
