Creating a harmonious home environment is crucial for young married couples as they embark on their new life together. With the help of Vastu, an ancient Indian architectural science, couples can enhance the positive energy in their living space and strengthen their bond. Sheetal Duggar, a Vastu expert, shares some essential dos and don’ts for young couples based on Vastu principles.
Dos:
Position your bedroom in the north or northwest direction of the house, with the attached bathroom in the west.
Place the bed in a way that your head faces south while sleeping, and avoid positioning it directly in front of the door.
Opt for a wooden bed as it radiates warm energy, promoting a cozy atmosphere. Avoid metal beds, which can feel cold and uncomfortable.
Situate the dressing table in the north or east part of the room, ensuring that its reflection does not fall on the bed while you sleep.
Place wardrobes on the south or southwest walls of the room.
Keep the north, northeast, and west areas of the room free from clutter at all times.
Display happy and positive pictures in the bedroom.
Choose pastel or light shades for the wall colors.
The wife should sleep on the left side of the bed, next to her husband.
Fill the bedroom with pleasant fragrances to create a soothing ambiance.

Don’ts:
Avoid having a concrete beam directly above the bed.
Refrain from placing idols or photos of gods/goddesses in the bedroom.
Do not have a mirror or any reflective surface facing the bed.
Couples should not use separate mattresses for sleeping.
Limit the number of electronic gadgets in the bedroom.
Avoid keeping artificial flowers in the room.
