Singapore Minister Lauds GOPIO

Minister Indranee Rajah praised the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) in Singapore for its efforts in fostering connections and networking among People of Indian Origin (PIOs) worldwide. Speaking at the GOPIO Singapore’s Fund-Raising Dinner and 21st anniversary celebrations, she highlighted GOPIO’s role in establishing the GOPIO International Business Council, which facilitates business interactions and networking opportunities for PIOs. The council also organizes business conferences to promote business opportunities within country chapters.

Rajah also commended GOPIO’s collaboration with community partners like the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) to organize biennial youth conferences, bringing together PIO youths. Through GOPIO’s cultural and sports activities, PIOs have integrated into society, further strengthening bonds between the local community and foreign PIOs.

The minister emphasized the positive impact of GOPIO’s work in promoting cultural integration and business networking. With over 40 chapters worldwide, GOPIO continues to serve the needs of the Indian diaspora globally.
